about

Here's the original version of "El Capitan." Recorded in 2005 at Brooklyn's Blue Monster Studios, it features some tasty trumpet and bari sax brought to joo by Frankie Vigilante and Don Undeen, respectively along with 'no no no' vocals from La Reina, Madelyn Burgess (bass). Donny Undeen was THE original Little Matador, going by the stage name "Don Don." He helped start and ignite the Cuban Cowboys back in Gainesville, FL in 1998-99! Back then, the band featured Jorge, Don Don, and 'Djembe GiRRl' (Mary-Anne Primack)...guitar, bari sax, and djembe drum. Muy nice and raw...Kinda like this track! Compare it to the version on 'Cuban Candles' just fer fun.
